December 3 - 8, 2012

Monday, December 3 – Catherine Hickem – Heaven In Her Arms – 2,000 years ago, a young woman named Mary said ‘yes’ to God, and raised His Son. She walked with Jesus from His birth until His death and set an amazing example of faith for women to follow. On the next Live the Promise Susie welcomes back author Catherine Hickem to talk about her new book, Heaven In Her Arms: Why God Chose Mary to Raise Her Son, and What It Means For You.
Tuesday, December 4 – Per Nilsen (In Studio) – Failure and the Christian – ‘The Christian life is built on an acceptance of failure.’ What does this mean, and how is it freeing for us? On the next Live the Promise Susie and Pastor Per Nilsen talk about the solid truth that while we experience failure, Christ’s love means we are NOT failures. Our faith in Him is rooted in our acceptance of our faults while rejoicing in His victory. Listen in to learn how.
Wednesday, December 5 – Lisa Bevere – Lioness Arising – What does it mean to be a woman in God’s kingdom? Today Susie talks again with author and speaker Lisa Bevere of Messenger International. We’re taking a fresh look at her book Lioness Arising and the unique gifts God has given to women for passion, purpose, and prowess.
Thursday, December 6 – Brady Boyd – Sons and Daughters – Do you love Jesus? Are you living in the truth that you belong in His family? Pastor Brady Boyd of New Life Church joins Susie to talk about his new book, Sons and Daughters. We’ll explore how to live in God’s family and embrace our new identity as God’s child, holy and dearly loved.
Friday, December 7 – Tullian Tchividjian (Recorded) – Glorious Ruin – It seems almost impossible in the midst of it, but the truth is that God in His power uses our pain for His glory. How can we find comfort in this? On the next Live the Promise we hear from pastor Tullian Tchividjian, grandson of Billy Graham. He’s written a new book titled Glorious Ruin. We learn how God works to accomplish powerful things when we’re in the valley of suffering.
Saturday, December 8 – Josh Weidmann – Honest to God – Sometimes the most difficult thing to do is be honest with God about our dreams, struggles, and disappointments… but it can also be the most liberating. We long to know there is a God and, yes, a community who is big enough to accept us for who we are and loving enough not to leave us that way. Today Susie talks with Josh Weidmann about his book, Honest to God. We’ll examine heroes of the faith who lived with daring, messy honesty before God and others and see that their example is worth following. Imagine how our relationships and witness would change if Christians everywhere began to live in a more authentic manner!
