Tuesday, September 4 – Skye Jethani – With – Why are American Christians, who have more access to biblical teaching than any other people in history, failing to experience the freedom of the Christian life? Why are pastors, those closest to the work and ministry, burning out at an alarming rate? Why do many church members, who give large amounts of their time and wealth to Christ and his kingdom, secretly question the legitimacy of their efforts? Is it possible we’ve misunderstood the call of the Christian life? Today Susie welcomes back editor, consultant, and pastor Skye Jethani to the show to talk again about his book, With. They talk about how a life lived in rich communion “with” God cultivates faith, hope, and love in a way that transforms both us and the broken world we inhabit.

Friday, September 7 – Philip Carlson – Love Written in Stone – Sometimes the term “boundaries” carries a sense of limitation, of restraint rather than love. Today Susie welcomes author and doctor Philip Carlson to the show to talk about his recent book, Love Written in Stone: Finding God’s Grace in the Boundaries He Sets. We’ll explore how God’s principles and guidelines for relationships, nutrition, sexuality and rest are supported by modern discoveries in science and medicine!

We’ll hear how imams, sheikhs, and entire mosques are forsaking Islam and embracing Christ.

Thursday, August 30 – Sharon Jaynes – A Sudden Glory – Each person has a "glory ache"--a longing to experience God's presence on a daily basis. August 6 - 11, 2012

Monday, August 6 – John Ortberg – Who Is This Man? – He is history's most familiar figure. His impact on the world is immense and non-accidental. From the Dark Ages to Post-Modernity he is the man who won't go away. He did not brashly defend his movement in the spirit of a rising political or military leader. He did not lay out a case that history would judge superior in all future books. He made history by starting in a humble place, in a spirit of love and acceptance, and allowing each person space to respond. Today Susie welcomes well-known pastor and author John Ortberg to the show to talk about his book, Who Is This Man? We explore how Jesus' influence has swept over history, art, science, government, medicine, and education and how his vision for us to lead lives of dignity, compassion, forgiveness, and hope continues to haunt and challenge humanity today.

Tuesday, August 7 – Nick Hall (Recorded) – Life in Christ – Listen in today as Susie talks with young evangelist Nick Hall, founder of the Pulse movement. We’ll explore what full surrender looks like – you won’t want to miss this refreshing and challenging program!

Dee will share her faith journey and talk about the challenges of losing a spouse, as well as her thriving prison ministry.

Friday, August 10 – Mark Buchanan (Recorded) – Your Church Is Too Safe – If you ever find church boring or you believe something is missing from our churches today, you aren’t alone. Instead of counting everything loss to be found in Christ, we’ve made it our priority to be safe instead of dangerous, nice instead of holy. Today Susie welcomes back author and pastor Mark Buchanan to recover a simple idea: that God meant His church to be both good news and bad news, an aroma and a stench — a disruptive force to whoever or whatever opposes the Kingdom of God and a healing, liberating power to those who seek it. Mark’s book is Your Church is Too Safe.

Saturday, August 11 – Angie Smith – What Women FearToday Susie welcomes back Angie Smith, Women of Faith speaker, writer, and wife of Selah’s Todd Smith. They talk about the common fears women wrestle with – abandonment, failure, not being “enough” – and how finding freedom in Christ results in freedom from fear. Angie’s book is What Women Fear.

July 30 - August 4, 2012

Monday, July 30 – Eric Parks – Frequency – How do you tune into your unique, God-given frequency? What if you could figure out a way to live intentionally on your frequency instead of having accidental moments with God? Today Susie talks with author Eric Parks about his book, Frequency. We’ll learn how to unpack the power that can happen when we discover our individual frequency and live on it. Your life shines, you sense God's presence in your life, people notice--and it inspires them to do the same.

Tuesday, July 31 – Stephen Mansfield – Healing Your Church Hurt –The body of Christ is meant to be a place of healing, strength, and community. When we experience wounds, weakness, gossip, and rejection in church, it can lead to pain and broken relationships. How can we start to come back into a church family after a negative experience? Today Susie welcomes back pastor and New York Times bestselling author Stephen Mansfield to talk more about his book, Healing Your Church Hurt.

Wednesday, August 1 – Richard Lawrence – Shrewd – It doesn't seem to make sense: Jesus tells his disciples to take a lesson from Satan himself. Today Susie and author Rick Lawrence  explore Jesus' parable of the shrewd manager in Luke 16, and His shocking mandate to be as shrewd as Satan and as innocent as the Holy Spirit. In fact, Jesus implies, if we are going to be any good for the Kingdom of God, we've got to be a lot shrewder than we are now. Rick shows how Jesus was naturally shrewd in every encounter He had, using leverage such as laughter, generosity, and bluntness to influence a situation for good. God calls us to be shrewd without evil intent, just as Jesus was. Rick’s new book is Shrewd: Daring to Live the Startling Command of Jesus.

Thursday, August 2 – Michelle McKinney Hammond – How to be Happy Right Where You Are – Today Susie welcomes back Michelle McKinney Hammond to talk about her new book, How to Be Happy Where You Are. We’ll look at the life of the Shunammite woman in 2 Kings 4, a compelling story of deep longing, miraculous fulfillment, fading dreams, and the realization that God's provision never fails.

Friday, August 3 – Jon Walker – In Visible Fellowship – Can you go it alone in this world and live out the Christian mission and life? Can you possibly live out the full life Christ promised with all its power and wonder without the love of the family of God? Today Susie and former Saddleback Church pastor Jon Walker talk about his book exploring Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Life Together, titled In Visible Fellowship.

Saturday, August 4 – Mark Batterson – The Circle Maker Do you ever sense that there’s far more to prayer, and to God’s vision for your life, than what you’re experiencing? It’s time you learned from the legend of Honi the Circle Maker—a man bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from inside it until God answered his prayers for his people. Today Susie is joined by lead pastor of National Community Church Mark Batterson. They’ll talk about prayer and his new book, The Circle Maker. What impossibly big dream is God calling you to draw a prayer circle around?
